U.S. Fashion Law

Joan is licensed in Virginia and New York. Her law practice focuses on intellectual property transactions in the areas of entertainment, arts, publishing, music, fashion, and luxury goods law. Legal and business matters such as trademarks, domain name issues, business entity formation, standard releases, book publishing agreements, model agency agreements, band collaboration agreements, and licensing are her areas of concentration. Joan’s diverse clients include fashion designers, authors, musicians, models, actors, actresses, inventors, photographers, event coordinators, visual artists, jewelry designers, and specialty boutiques. Joan obtained an LLM in Fashion Law in 2022 from Luiss Carli University School of Law in Rome, Italy. Before private practice, Joan served as a law clerk to former Chief Justice Harry L. Carrico of the Virginia Supreme Court. She is an experienced mediator and has mediated numerous cases involving business and family matters. Joan is a licensed private investigator in the state of Virginia and serves as the Director of the Private Investigators Association of Virginia.
